Pine and Cranes

According to the artist, the paintings surrounding the elevators leading to the second through fourth floors of ESPACIO Nagoya Castle serve as subtle visual guides. The central motif is a pine tree with gracefully spreading branches. At its center, a crane raises its neck while a young crane lowers its own, creating a composition that evokes the themes of ascent and descent. Together with the elevator’s lighting, which presents a vision of the cosmos distinct from the paintings themselves, the work heightens anticipation for the spaces that await beyond.
