Kirin
Installed in the Kirameki bedroom at ESPACIO The Hakone Geihinkan Rin-Poh-Ki-Ryu, Kirin draws upon the mythical creature long revered in East Asian tradition as an auspicious symbol. It is said to appear only in times of peace, making its presence a symbol not of strength or power, but of harmony and tranquility. The stainless-steel surface gently catches the changing natural light, casting a soft glow throughout the space.
Tomoya Tachibana
Tachibana completed the Master's Program in Metalwork at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1999. He subsequently established Studio Tachibana. Focusing on commissioned projects in Japan and abroad, he creates spaces that evoke emotional responses through the thoughtful combination of materials and techniques suited to each setting.
