Seiryu
This work draws inspiration from the Seiryu (Blue Dragon), the mythical guardian that presides over the east in the tradition of the Four Guardian Beasts. The Seiryu symbolizes the arrival of spring and the awakening of life. In this work, Tomoya Tachibana expresses the dragon's vitality through forms inspired by surrounding trees, vegetation, and flowing water, evoking the perpetual cycles of renewal in nature.
Tomoya Tachibana
Tachibana completed the Master's Program in Metalwork at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1999. He subsequently established Studio Tachibana. Focusing on commissioned projects in Japan and abroad, he creates spaces that evoke emotional responses through the thoughtful combination of materials and techniques suited to each setting.
