Parallel Universe
Inspired by the waters of Nagoya Castle's moat, which have remained unchanged for over 400 years, this work reflects the quiet continuity of time. Within a circular composition, the surface of the water shifts with the wind and changing light, creating a scene in which the landscapes of past and present gently converge.
Yuuri Kabata
Working from a set of simple principles, Kabata develops a distinctive visual language that grows increasingly cohesive through repetition and accumulation. His practice began with monochrome two-dimensional works and has since expanded to encompass color, installation, and other media. In recent years, he has based much of his artistic practice in Singapore.
