Phoenix Feathers

Installed in the "Daichi" guest room, this dynamic work serves as its symbolic centerpiece. Though created using traditional plastering techniques originally developed to finish architectural walls, its form evokes the tail feathers of the houoh, conveying a remarkable sense of lightness while retaining the substantial presence of clay. The artist describes envisioning "the sound of a mythical bird taking flight" and "feathers fluttering gently," expressing his lifelong fascination with these imagined scenes.
