Waves and Mount Fuji—an iconic pairing deeply rooted in the Japanese landscape. Bringing both together within a single kumiko work requires exceptional craftsmanship. Here, Mount Fuji stands unwavering amid the surrounding waves, embodying a quiet strength. This imagery also mirrors the spirit of ESPACIO The Hakone Geihinkan Rin-Poh-Ki-Ryu, which remains steadfast while embracing the ever-changing beauty of its natural surroundings.
Masanobu Shiozawa
Born in Iida, Nagano Prefecture, in 1973, Shiozawa exhibited at the National Joinery Exhibition in 2001, becoming the youngest recipient of the Prime Minister's Award. In 2013, he was selected for the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition) for the first time. He regularly holds solo exhibitions at the Ginza Mikimoto Main Store in Tokyo and at leading department stores throughout Japan. In 2019, he received the Contemporary Crafts Award at the Japan Contemporary Crafts Art Exhibition.
