Cloud Sky Phoenix Dance
The pool at ESPACIO Nagoya Castle offers a sanctuary where guests can release tension while surrounded by reflections of light and water. Natural light pours down from above, evoking the boundless expanse of sky and sea. Suspended overhead is a stainless-steel relief depicting the Houoh soaring gracefully through the air. Between water and light, the Houoh appears to shimmer as though continually taking flight. As the artist explains, the work expresses "an auspicious state"—a symbolic sign of good fortune.
Guan Huaibin
A professor at the China Academy of Art, he has participated in many international exhibitions and held various solo exhibitions. In the context of Chinese installation art, he is known for experimenting with aesthetic concepts and the linguistic methods found in classical Asian landscaping.
